How to get older version of Octane X for Catalina

Hi folks, I'm trying to get Octane X working on either my iMac (AMD Radeon Pro 580) or MacBook Pro (AMD Radeon Pro 5300M) and both systems are currently running Catalina. It looks like PR1 of Octane X could run on Catalina and would hypothetically work with one of those two GPUs (can't really at the moment which one).

Is there any way to get a previous release of Octane X so I don't need to upgrade my systems to Big Sur? Any help is appreciated!

Cheers,
Tylor

Hi Taylor,
with AMD Radeon Pro 5300M you can stay with Catalina, and download and install OctaneX PR6:

And you can also upgrade to Big Sur or Monterey

AMD Radeon Pro 580 is a Polaris GPU, so it can only work with OctaneX under macOS 11 Big Sur, in this case you need OctaneX PR11:

And you cannot work in both Catalina or Monterey.

The support depends on Apple Metal driver.
In Catalina, only Vega, and Navi GPUs are supported.
In Big Sur, Polaris, Vega, Navi, and Big Navi.
in Monterey, only Vega, Navi and Big Navi.

ciao,
Beppe

Thanks bepeg4d, that's what I was suspecting too. Do you know if there's an Octane Server and Octane Blender version of Octane X PR6 available anywhere?
