2 older GPU PC build

Hi guys!

I've been using CPU and GPU renders for many years for ArchViz, so I have 2 x 2yr old PC builds laying around. Relevant parts - 1 x RTX 2070 super and 1 x RTX 2080, MoBo Gigabyte X570 AORUS ELITE, PS Corsair RM850x.

I'm very impressed with Octane, but before I dive in and buy a licence I first want to optimize my render build.

I understand that there is no option to use my Gigabyte X570 AORUS ELITE with 2GPUs without SLI so I need a new Mobo, the prices now are cosmic, so any advice on the optimal choice? I know I'll upgrade to RTX 30xx some day in the future and that would mean a new case and cooling and everything, so at least would be nice if I could use the Mobo that I buy now. I usually DYOR for everything, but as I'm fresh into Octane there's a lot to test and learn in limited time, so any advice on how would you approach this situation would be useful! Would you use these 2 GPUs on a new MoBo, or just buy 1x RTX 30xx series + new Mobo as a future proof setup?

Many thanks!!

I already bought a licence, but I'm a noob in GPUs and I have a project that I'd like to work on with dual GPU setup ASAP! I don't think I'm too dumb but it is quite hard to find info about SLI NVLINK setups related to Octane. Is there any thread with PC builds/ dual RTX 2070/2080 setups that I can check??? I found a link but I'm not allowed to read it.

Again - relevant parts - 1 x RTX 2070 super and 1 x RTX 2080, MoBo Gigabyte X570 AORUS ELITE, no SLI. Should I buy NVLink or just a new MB? Anyone know which MB should be optimal??

Thank you!
