material with fluids

Hello,
Is there a way to apply a diffuse/glossy/toon/etc material to this fluid?
I've seen several posts showing how to apply the medium volume but what about just a regular material?
Thanks

Hi Baxley,
Thanks for the post.
Sorry, we can not apply Octane materials to Maya fluid since they are volumes.
Please attach an Octane Volume medium node in the
Medium field to render.
Here is the link to our documentation (
https://docs.otoy.com/MayaH/MayaPluginM ... Medium.htm)
cheers

Hi Bikram,
Maya fluids are not only volumes, they are also surfaces (level sets) :
Indeed this is the exact same thing as Octane Volume_SDF node :
In the plugin Volume_SDF is implemented in the OctaneVolume node:
But sadly this was never implemented for Maya fluids...

Hi Calus,
Yes, thank you so much for explaining the workflow. Truly appreciate your help!
I have created an internal ticket to implement this in future releases.
