Material packs

Hi everyone,
I am a paid material creator for different renderers with cinema 4D but I am new to Octane renderer and I saw that there is a material sharing system called open liveDB.
I would like to make material packs for Octane but I have some questions:
- Is there already a lot of free resources for Octane and C4D is there a demand for material packs?
- open liveDB seems very convenient but isn't there a risk of copyright violation for material and texture creators?
I guess there is no protection or control?
