20201 RC3 Pink Cast to Environment

Just installed latest beta test for Octane Blender 2021.1 RC3 24.4.

The default environment casts a strange overwhelming pink hue to the scene. See attached screen shots. Same file in Stable 2020.2.5 - 23.11 renders normally.

Hi,

If it is what I suspect, it is not a bug.

It is covered in the section "Octane 2021 updated color processing", under its sub-section "White Light Spectrum": https://www.elsksa.me/scientia/cgi-offl ... management

A couple of options that I can think of at the moment, are available: the Camera Imager's White Balance tool or revert back to the previous behavior from the Kernel settings.

Thanks for the link some really good information there, even if I don’t quite follow all of it.

Not sure yet how I’m going to adjust my work flow moving forward with these Octane color changes.

That's something really odd. Can I see you're environment options?

Yes I did, I just would like to take a look at the user options, so to identify exactly what's wrong.

The general guidelines to set Color Management/Octane Imager option right:

1. Go to Scene tab in Properties window (Blender 2.79)
or go to Render Properties tab in Properties window (Blender 2.8x).
Expand Color Management and set:
* Display Device: sRGB
* View Transform: RAW
* Look: None
* Exposure: 0.0
* Gamma: 1.0
------------------------------------------------------
2. Go to camera tab in Properties window and enable Octane Camera Imager (Render mode)
------------------------------------------------------
3. Alternatively go to 3d view Properties panel (N key shortcut), locate Octane Camera Imager (preview Mode) and enable Override. This way all cameras will have the setting from this panel.
