Hi,

Anyone having experience in using Octane to demonstrate experiment where one uses 3D models of the lenses (glass with 1.51 IOR) to simulate a projector.
I now that quadlights can be used, but that is not the point.

Is it possible at all?

Many many thanks
Aleksandar

Yes, I've played around with it, and it works, but it can be painfully slow. I built a mockup of the optical "invisibility" shield that made the rounds a while ago, and it worked great in Octane. I've also done some experiments with combinations of lenses and such for some physics education type images. It worked, but was a bear to render. That was a few years/versions ago, so things may be faster/easier now.

Here's a video of the shield in real life, and a still shot of my Octane simulation. There's a long, red cylinder behind the shield, with just the top peeking over.
