Something tells me this isn't possible since I've already tried searching and can't find anyone with the same question let alone an answer to it.

I'm wondering if it's possible to run octane in two versions of C4D. I have R24 and R21 installed. R21 is installed so I can still use hot4D which seems to have stopped development at R21. I have a separate folder for my plugins outside my C4D install folder where everything's installed. I had everything working until I installed octane C4D plugin and now I can't open R21. Is there a way to accomplish this or am I SoL?

you can have a different c4doctane version per C4D version, eg. you can install the stable version is S24, and the test version in R21, or whatever version you want.
What is important, is to have only c4doctane version per C4D version, and to properly remove the unnecessary .xdl64 files, not related to the specific version.
The installation path must be like this: ciao Beppe
