Composite Material slot 1 not working [24.0]

Composite Material slot 1 not working in BlenderOctane 24.0

Downloaded the update yesterday and been trying to solve this. Updated drivers and reinstalled as well.

With a Composite material the Material slot 1 isn't working.
Shader updates correctly when slot 2 is used.

That's exactly how it works in Standalone as well.
You should consider Material 1 as a base material. If you "mask" it what should the masked area show?
My feeling is that the Mask input for the first Material should just go since it can be confusing.

Hi Lino,

He's not using "material 1 mask" though. He's using "material 2 mask". This is working in 2021.1 XB2 standalone.

EDIT: It also works in the 2020.2.4 (23.10) release. I dont have 24.0 installed to check at the moment.

I installed 24.0 and it fails to work there, so it looks like a bug in the 24.0 build. You can see the nodegraph in this screenshot is not creating the material correctly.

Its plugging material 2 + mask into material 1 + mask

Oh, I was testing it in 24.10 where it works correctly.
I'll ask to fix the current 24.0 version.
