Shuttle at Warp

I don't normally post on here but had a bit of time to kill so here goes. :o

I thought I'd try something slightly odd using the latest 2.49b with one of my old Shuttle craft models.

I was trying to visualise how a Star fleet Shuttle craft overtaking you at warp speed would look.

The Star field map and the Shuttle craft were heavily distorted in Octane using a camera setting of about 170deg to get that warp effect on the ship and the star field.

Post production in Photoshop for blur and Ghosting only.

Regards

Jabba

A larger resolution and darker star field would look better, but a nice idea.

Thanks for the comment

The Star field was also the environmental map to light the scene.Probably over brightened it a bit to get it to light the shuttle.

Looking forward to it, big Star Trek fan over here.

If you have any other models, bigger ships, feel free to make some beauty shots with some planets or stations :geek: I will always enjoy some good sci-fi art.

Hey Jaberwocky, I have increased the speed of my ship to warp 7 so now I am able to make a sharp shot of your space ship out of the bridge window :)

10 seconds at warp 1 and no one know who you are ;)
Because moved clocks run slower for an external observer.
For you 10sec, for other thousands of years...

the clocks do not move at warp, its the space around the warp bubble, which is moved. or did i misunderstand it?

I think warp theory for the TV series was based on the premise of getting from A to B as follows.

Take a sheet of paper representing a section of space you want to travel through.

You travel across the sheet of paper (space) at sub warp from one edge to the other.

At warp the analogy is as follows.

If you now fold that piece of paper in half, then the two edges are adjacent to each other. Therefore you can travel from edge to edge of the paper (eg space) in no time.

Sounds like you want a space race :)
