Does the Octane Framebuffer work on OSX? I am running this build on houdini 18.5 on Big Sur OSX and Octane defaults to mplay, not the octane framebuffer, and also nothing shows up if I manually selected it?

The macOS plugin only supports the MPlay IPR currently. This is one of the reasons why we are working on a whole new Qt5 based IPR window, that can work fine across all the OS.

Yes, sure. I'll try to release a new Houdini plugin build early next week including this latest PR13 build and support for the latest Houdini production builds.

I've been trying to compile the Houdini plugin against the OctaneX PR13 core in my mac mini M1, but unfortunately, it doesn't work at all, at least on this system under Monterey. I'm still investigating what could be the problem, so I hope to know more about the problem soon.

Ok thanks for the update. I've been happy with the Octane X progress, but man the plugin wait is real!

The OctaneX PR14 Houdini plugin is already available, including plugin builds for the latest H18.5 and H19.0 production builds:
