Hi I'm an enterprise subscriber, but I'm having an issue where renders that go beyond a couple thousand samples suddenly get the octane watermark on them. This has happened across multiple project files. Once it appears, any further renders show the watermark immediately upon rendering until I restart Houdini. Needless to say, this is a deal-breaking bug as I can no longer trust that Octane will complete a render successfully.

I was not having this issue on previous versions prior to upgrading to Big Sur so I could use the latest Octane X PR. My specs:

+ macOS Big Sur 11.2.3
+ Houdini Indie 18.5.499
+ Octane_2020.1.5.3_PR8_Houdini_18.5.499_OSX
+ Happens with PT and PMC kernels
+ 2019 Mac Pro, 24 core, 384GB RAM, AMD Radeon Pro W5700X
+ Wired internet connection 900Mbps (in case this is about connection to the licensing server)

I'm attaching an example scene that exhibits the behavior, but as I said this is not scene-specific and has been plaguing me since upgrading to Big Sur and the associated Octane version.

Sorry, can you please send an email to [email protected] about this issue? It seems some kind of problem with the license, so the support team should be able to help you. Probably they are not going to see your message here in the Houdini forum.

hi guys,
i have the exact same problem under houdini 19.5.303 and octane 2021.1.5 enterprise.
i never encounter this before.
standalone is running fine with no watermark.

False alert the real problem was between the keyboard and the screen ...
