Can't render Frame Range that doesn't start at 0

I have successfully rendered the first 50 frames of a scene that I then stopped the render on. I'm trying to continue the render by starting on frame 51 but nothing is happening. Picture Viewer is saying "Updating" and there is no progress on it, long after a frame should've been rendered. Is there anything I need to change to my scene to start on a frame other than 0? I'm using 2020.1.5-R4

Steve, please try with 2020.2.1-R2. Many improvements have been made since the version you are using.

I've updated to the current version but still have this problem.

Hey Steve.
Just some suggestions:
1. Have you tried going to the C4D Render Settings output tab and changing the frame range to Current Frame? If so will it let you render frame 51?
2. In the frame range menu there is an option for Preview Range. Might want to try that.
3. Also, make sure you try a restart of the computer (could help).

Two possibilities
1- A render failure and render cannot continue
2- Shader errors if it has C4D shaders
