Octane viewport material constantly turns black

I'm having this really annoying problem where my octane materials will just suddenly turn completely black in the viewport if I make changes to them. I have to constantly open each material up and press reload for it to work again. They also render black
if I do a quick viewport render to test the animation. I have updated my GPU driver to the latest studio one. I have checked the file paths and they are all fine, no missing textures. I even tried globalizing file paths but that doesn't work. It shows fine in the Octane LV, but not in the C4D viewport or viewport render.
They are all basic glossy textures with a diffuse, spec and normal map. Nothing special on these materials.
Project asset inspector, all green ticks.
Viewport render shows black. Some do manage to render but some randomly show as black.

Is this a C4D(R23) bug or an Octane problem? I am on 2020.2.1 but I had this problem on the previous few versions too.

we don't have bug like this! You may have some wrong settings parameters for previews or materials. Delete oct.dat from prefs folder and restart C4D

Hi, thanks I tried deleting oct.dat but i'm still having the problem. It only happens with octane materials, standard materials render fine. This happens over multiple octane projects too.
My settings:
It only works if I manually reload the textures each time. But then they turn black again if I make changes to them.

Not sure what happens but posted images are not helpful. Go to settings/other, use "generate log report" as in link and send the file

Here is the log:
15:04:23 is when all materials were black in the viewport, and I opened the node material editor for a selected material, then that material showed properly in the viewport. Either that or pressing reload manually makes it work again.
Also if I close the project and reopen it, the materials load fine again, until I make changes to them.

You didn't send what I requested. Please check picture and post the "octanelog_report.zip" file.

Also recorded it happening, unchecking some material properties makes it work again, or reloading them.

I think it's about R23 and mix materials, I see some weirdness. But fine with other materials
