OctaneRender for Maya 2020.2-19.8 [OBSOLETE]

Otoy® is proud to announce the availability of a new OctaneRender™ for Maya® Version 2020.2
The world's fastest and most feature-rich unbiased render engine that integrates completely into Autodesk® Maya®.

Maya® Version Requirements

This release will work with Maya® Versions 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020 64-bit on Windows, Linux and OSX operating systems.

To use this version, you need a GPU of compute model 3.0 or higher. Support for Fermi GPUs (like GTX 4xx and 5xx) has been dropped. Also make sure you use a driver of version 419.17 or higher and if you are working on Mac OS that have a CUDA driver installed that supports at least CUDA 9.1.

  • Improved the OCIO Color Space selection menus, making them structured in a tree and more convenient to use.

Hi Jim,

Great fix! thank you very much now we are ready to use ACES, we wrote custom OSL node to correct automatic to aces profile all texture and colors so the workflow now is working great I didn't share with Standalone to tried something more automatic but I will post here the lua script in case.

Presumably you guys will do automatic on the future but for now we use similar as Vray we plug this matrix before images and color swatchs with script to convert the scenes shaders and etc same inside standalone for old projects and news.

Thanks for this, Jim. Both 2020.2 releases have given me no errors yet.

I would still like to repeat my request for menu-based, or shelf-based (not orbx proxy) ability to add vectron and spectron features while using the plugin in maya.

For me, when the newest features of Octane are burried, I just don't use them.


This post edited. I meant spectron, not sculptron.

maya 2020.4 — do not work parameters "Response" and "Gamma" (octane imager)
maya 2018 — "Response" and "Gamma" are working fine

everywhere does not work denoiser and RTX accseleration (0% faster)

Can we have a update on the Standalone a lot bug fixes specially with Osl and other points we need would be great to update DCC plugs.
