LW quites when attempting material conversion

Hi all,

I have a complex scene previously used in LW's render engine. I'd like to convert it for use with Octane. I have done this a few times before. I undersdtand the conversion isn't perfect, but it's certainly going to help with a scene with 200+ materials.

But, when I attempt any kind of material conversion, LW just quits. Either when selecting all, or a single object (any of them), or when individually doing selected surfaces (even when just one surface selected).
I am using LW 2020.0.2, and Octane 2020.1.5.

The scene uses lots of Principled nodes, so I can't use OD tools here either.

Any tips?

This is a known issue due to a bug in the LightWave 2020 SDK. Unfortunately, right now the only workaround for the material conversion is to use LightWave 2019. I was trying to figure out a workaround, but without luck so far yet.

Thanks,
-Juanjo

You can use LW2020. You just can't set the convertor to AUTO DETECT. Pick a mode. Then it works.

yes, of course you can work with LW2020 without problems. The only known issues related to the 2020 SDK are the material conversion and a problem while working with HDR Light Studio. You can convert your materials in LW2019 and later continue working in LW2020.
