Hi all. How do I open the node editor in Octane 2020 for Houdini 18.5.351. I did it once accidentally but I can't do it again. Again, no information on the documentation about this. Thanks!

You can open the Octane node editor ALT+clicking over the IPR window. What you can see once opened is the picked material, but be aware that this feature only makes sense to export the material to the LiveDB/LocalDB. The material can't be edited there.

Thanks,

Ah yes haha. I was trying everything, couldn't remember how to do it. About the materials. Importing them from LiveDB, well, they are kind of a mess. Every parameter is exposed and wired to a vop. Texture files and the other necessary ones I understand. Do all the float/vector/integer variable need to be exposed as well? Can they not just be baked into the material parameter. It's very time consuming and I find difficult to navigate them. Like this for example. All that's really needed to be wired into the material is a few vops. A medium, turbulence, transform, projection, and a round edges. The other ones are all floats and integers. Very difficult to work with and navigate. Is this something that can be cleaned up? Cheers.

well no it's not, i have fill a RFE to keep consistency at import, but it looks to be hard to do in houdini.
