Hi,

I hope it is the proper place to post this,

I am trying to read the vertex color from zbrush FBX file ( polypaint)
I saw the color vertex attribute node inside diffuse options, and set up the proper Col name, it work in Blender but it still remain white in OCtane.
Anything to do to make it work with Octane? would be amazing.

Thank you
Paul

Hi,
have you tried to export from Blender to Standalone in .orbx format?

ciao Beppe

also liked to know if there is a way, standalone is better for quick lookdev since you can reload mesh quite faster than in blender

Which version did you test this with?

There was an update in 2020.2 RC6, from the changelog:
"Added support to import RGB/RGBA vertex attributes from Alembic files. Be aware that the alpha component of RGBA attributes is discarded as in Octane, textures only can produce a spectrum, an RGB color or a greyscale value."

If you still have the problem please provide a test scene.
Thanks

I'm using octane 2020.2.1

It's maybe because i'm not setting up correctly, look at the image. the same object imported in marmoset and houdini get vertex color.
I tried alembic but it doesn't work at all (even in houdini and marmoset), i think Zbrush don't put vertex colors infos when exporting alembic.
