Frequent crashes, possibly related to procedural noise

Hi Aoktar!
I'm working on a client project, fairly simple scene, where I have started experiencing frequent crashes on rendering, both in the live viewer and when rendering to the picture viewer. It seems almost random, and happens probably more than 50% of all times I start a render.
I can't be sure, but I use quite a lot of Cinemas noise shaders in my materials, so it may be related to that. I don't normally have this much crash issues.
Is there an email adress where I can send you a link to the project file, as I cannot share it here on the forum?
I'm on Windows 10, Running C4D R22, Latest Octane 2020.1.5-R4 and Nvidia Driver 452.57 on 2 Quadro P5000 cards.
Kind regards
Andreas

Hello Andreas, are you using the OSL option for the Cinema 4D noises? This is an experimental feature, and if you are experiencing crashes with it enabled, it is best to disable it for now.

Hello Jayroth!
Thank you for the quick reply.
Ah, I see. I was not aware that it is an experimental feature, but I see now when checking the preferences that it does in fact say that very thing next to the checkbox.
That is a shame, the C4D noises are so very versatile and handy. I guess I will have to find a different solution (perhaps render out the noise I used as bitmaps and map them with triplanar mapping).
Perhaps difficult for you to answer, I realize that, but when do you think we will see a stable implementation of the noises?

Please post a sample scene with your material setup which crashes and screenshot from octane setting/others/c4dshaders. Also a bugreport.zip which is generated at the crash moment. It's far better than write anything doesn't give any idea. Need to see your setup.

Absolutely Aoktar, I understand, and I can do that. I just can't post it here on the forum since it is a client job, so can I send a download link to an email adress, or perhaps a DM to you?
If not, I will try to strip out everything sensetive from the file, but it would be easier to just send it as it is.
Thanks!

no need to all content of your private data. Just send a minimal version of your scene which can cause same problem. Send me PM from the forum system.

Hi again!
Just thought I'd let you know that it appears to have stopped, miraculously. Not sure what changed.
If it does occur again, I will DM you the scene and crash reports etc as we discussed.
Thank you!
