How to make glowing (spaceship) engines?

Hello, this is my first posting here.

I wanted to rework some old scenes with spaceships I created many years ago. I have problems with the engines. In Cinema4D I had used visible point lights, which had a linear decrease but no emission. I could live with the result, not very realistic, but fast rendering.

With Octane I can't find a solution to get a similar result. I played with gloom power, lights and materials with emissions. But somehow it does not fit. I think there is an easy way, but I have trouble finding it. Any ideas how to simply represent burning engines?

My old engines in C4D looked something like this:

That's the best I could get out with Octane by now, but there are no flames, just this bright area inside the engine:

I used a disc with transparent but emitting material. But I would like to have something like a fire dome which fades out from the center to the edges.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,
for a more realistic effect you should need to prepare a Volume, but have a look at this simple and fast solution with a Cone primitive, and Specular/Air material with IOR =1 and Scattering Medium:
