Shadows and Octane X for OSX

Hi
With the release of PR2 Octane X I was hoping that this issue would be fixed.
In another post weeks ago, I was given suggestions on how to make this work and I am still stuck. This should be so simple and yet somehow, I cannot find the cause of the issue:
I want to integrate a 3d object into a still. I have set the floor material to Shadow catcher, I tried with OctaneDayLight and alternatively with a regular light but while those two options present different outcomes none of them are right. This should so simple. What am I doing wrong? The shadows are either brighter or reversed but never as they should be. I know it must work somehow because I have followed several tutorials specific to shadow catcher in Octane. Is this still a bug in Octane X? Is there a workaround. I have included my test project. I really hope for someone to clear this for me.
Thank You!
Piotr

It seems it is a limitation on the macOS version, it works in the CUDA/Windows version with shadow-catching exactly as you would expect, but it does not in macOS (Metal) with the exact same file in my experience.

Thank You.
Yes. It is apparently still a bug, just as the Node Editor which is almost useless because it freezes all the time.

Is the node editor still buggy? I'm trying to gauge the viability of Octane X/Macs for 3D without a Mac and an Octane dev said nodes should be stable now...
