Best CPU for octane

Yes, I know Octane is a GPU render !!!
But, evaluation ( voxzlisation ? ) is done by cpu, and I wonder if there is a huge boost for this evaluation with top cpu ? Is there any benchmark ?
On big scenes evaluation can be long.
I have a i7-5930 ( a bit old ) and scores 10.230 and AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 3995WX scores 88,673 but not sure it match octane needs.
What about a AMD Ryzen 9 3900X ( 32,856 ) or a Intel Core i9-10940X @ 3.30GHz ( 29,673 ) ?
Anybody change its CPU and have feedback ? Thanks.

The best CPU for OctaneRender would be the one with the fastest single core speed (also the highest for few cores). So something like 9900k or 10900k would be the best. Do not look into multithreaded score.

Or wait for a week or so to see what the new range of CPUs from AMD are like.
Looks like they'll be less expensive with better performance...

Probably only relevant though if you're getting a new system.

Which I am (currently on 10 year old AMD IIx6 1055 but don't tell anyone   )

So maybe a Ryzen 5000 processor, new RTX3??? graphics card or 2 and a Sabrent 2TB Rocket Nvme PCIe 4.0 M.2 SSD.

Finally all talking to each other at PCIe 4. Should help reduce bottlenecks. Happy days.

Here too. Often scene evaluation and loading times in 3ds max are longer than the actual rendering.
But it got a bit better with improved IO performance in the latest max version.

thanks for answers ! I Hope Otoy can manage to shorten the evaluation time....
