Hi,
yes, but you need PMC kernel that is quite slow at the moment, but have a look at the new Progressive Photon Mapping kernel that is going to arrive in the next version:

On the topic of the new PPM kernel - will it work with participating media? (As in this paper: https://core.ac.uk/download/pdf/52105235.pdf page 64 (labeled page 52))
i.e. volume-caustics - caustic photons being scattered in fog, etc. If so, will it work with volumes/vdbs or only uniform media?

The only good results I've gotten in the past have been using Houdini photon maps, but they're cumbersome as hell to generate and manage, and fiddly to set up right. Very excited to try out PPM... looks like the holy-grail of caustics, especially if it's essentially a fire-and-forget type solution.

Would also like to know an ETA. Will it be showing up in 2020.2 dev builds for testing?
