this is on win10.

it happens without fail, each time.

if i have a project open in blender octane and i go into sleep, upon wakeup the blender is shutdown and any unsaved progress is gone.
other software remained open.

confusingly, i have had both unreal and blender open and both were open upon wake up.

edit:
apparently the crash happens when octnae is selected as the renderer and a viewport has a rendered image.
not sure, but it seems it doesnt happen with regular shaded viewport.

I've tested this on all of my systems (Win 10) and had no issues, everything was fine on restart.
I wonder if this could be related to some particular settings on your system?

Just wanted to confirm crackfox's issue.
Same happens for me. Latest 3.6.5 BlenderOctane build. Win 11.
If the viewport scene view is set to Octane, then it will auto shutdown as soon as the PC goes into sleep mode.

I've extended the period that it waits to go into sleep and try to remember to switch it to regular shaded view before I leave the pc, but hopefully this might be an easy code fix?

I've tried here with the latest custom build, and had no issues. Can you please test it as well?

I haven't tested this but sleep mode can mean several things to people so definitely show how your power settings are configured so it can be reproduced and fixed.
In particular there is when the display is turned off, and there is when the hard drives are turned off. Maybe that's why it reacts differently. A quick way to test this might be to put Windows into "Hibernate" wait for a bit and wake it up.
