Hello,
Is any of the Cinema 4D Octane plugin affected by the change from Python 2 to 3? If so, how long is it estimated for an R23-compatible build? I tried the S22 version with R23 and it doesn't appear to be working.
Thank you!

Also, are Octane 4 owners going to have a R23 compatible version?

It's a pretty new release. I'm not on it yet, neutron will not be supported any time soon. So can't give any time line.

hi aoktar
I think, most user don't care about neutron. We just need a octane version for S23 to work on current projects.

Latest C4D version supported by v4 is R21.
Now we are at v8(2020.1), S22 and R23 cannot have a v4, v5, ecc. versions.
The first version supporting R23 will be 2020.1 only.

For my curiosity, why you guys are so impatient to get builds as soon as a new release is available?
Sometimes it's not so simple to adopt the plugins for new c4d releases. I cannot estimate without prepare a build environment over new sdks. Thought I'm on leave for a while, it has to wait until return for one week or more

because I wanna work with the new release. And use the new features. (not neutron, it's too new to use in production) For me no problem, if it's not working with Octane.
Enjoy your holiday, stay safe!

Impatient....?! Obviously because pretty much every user of Octane and C4d will want to use the most recent features in R23...and wont be able to until Octane is ready for R23...

Yes! I cannot synch my work to every release dates, I don't decide when they do. Also we have own workloads to complete. I prefer to finish my tasks first, then look for new c4d versions. This is my safe way for development.
