Hello!

I've been away quite a time from 3D rendering.
So I reinstalled Octane Render V3 on Win 10 with a RTX 2070 super.

Octane does not do a render.
I get this message with a demo scene on the lower right of the render window:

Code: Select all

63405 tri, 1 mesh, GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER (failed), -/-/8192 MB
Is V3 quite too old for the recent Nvidia drivers and the GPU?

- Operating System (Win 10 - 64)
- Amount of RAM: 16 GB
- Graphics Card(s) - model: GeForce RTX 2070 Super
- Nvidia driver version: 452.06
- Carrara version 8.1
- OctaneRender for Carrara version: 3.08.03.42

Hi,
unfortunately Nvidia has broken the drivers some time ago under Windows, and versions prior to 4.02.1 are no longer working with recent Nvidia driver versions.

You should need to downgrade the Nvidia driver by performing a clean installation of 417.71 version:
https://www.nvidia.com/Download/driverR ... 1906/en-us

To perform a clean installation, please follow these steps:

But we highly suggest to upgrade to v4.05, fully compatible with latest Nvidia driver.
You can find 4-05 by visiting your personal Downloads area:
https://render.otoy.com/account/download_archive.php
You need to select your purchased version from the Select Software pop up:

Probably you will have to upgrade your version 3 licenses to version 4. This upgrade is free and can be done visiting the following link:

ciao Beppe

Yeah! Thank you for your hints. Upgraded to 4.05 and runs fine - also with the Carrara plugin :D
