HDRI Gamma seems incorrect

I'm getting the feeling the HDRI gamma seems off. I bring in the image at gamma 1.0, but the preview render looks like it is set to 2.2. If I set to Gamma to .4545, the Preview render looks correct.

Let's have a call with screen sharing as soon as possible, so we can verify if this is a issue or it depends on CS settings in Max/Octane.

Alright, it looks like the Octane gamma problem is due to the viewport displaying things in linear color space by default. I got it correct now, very happy with Octane right now. Thanks Lino for the help.

working with Octane camera > set imager in Octane camera.
working with standard camera > set imager in Kernel panel.
