So after a lot of messing around tonight, finally got 3.08 onto my R19 version of C4D, but upon rendering in Live Viewer I get an Octane render failure saying to check Octane log. Is as follows:

I looked up what CUDA 999 means and a year ago people were saying to roll back a NVIDIA to 417.xx or something. I did attempt that, but NVIDIA says 417 isn't able to install on Windows 10.

Is this error log up above actually indicating Windows 10 is my issue, or the latest NVIDIA 442.59 is wrong driver to use? Or one simply can't use 3.08 anymore these days?

I'm new to Windows 10 with Octane, coming out of Windows 7 and trying to get some Octane build that actually works in Windows 10 with the current Octane C4D plugin license I bought a few years ago AND R19 since it's all I have.

Any help would be much appreciated as I'm very out of the loop on Win 10.

Unfortunately Nvidia has broken the drivers some time ago under Windows, and versions prior to 4.02.1 are no longer working with recent Nvidia driver versions.

You should need to downgrade the Nvidia driver by performing a clean installation of 417.71 version, but we highly suggest to upgrade c4doctane to v4.05-R7, fully compatible with latest Nvidia driver.

Thanks for clarifying Beppe. I guess it was my understanding from the Nvidia error that drivers 417 wouldn't work whatsoever on Win10, but I'll try completely removing the new drivers and doing a clean install of 417.
