Hi,

I don't know how to fix this. But whenever using cryptomatte the color ID's are changing each frame.
Do any of you have had this kind of problem? If so, how can I fix this?

Using LW 2019.1.3 with Octane 2019 latest version

It happens to me when Update Material or scene reload is selected.

Could this be fixed?

Not sure if it's the same issue you are describing, but there's this thread about Cryptomatte workflow that fixed a similar issue for me. The short answer: use the CryptoMaterialNodeName pass.

I suppose that this can happen indeed while rendering in full scene reload or while updated materials (due to the fact that to update the materials the plugin destroys/rebuilds them). I'm not sure how easy could be fixing something like that, that happens in the Octane core out of the plugin control.

Thanks,

It would be worth fixing. There are numerous scenes that require an octane material update.
And that would render the cryptomatte useless..

Thanks though

What cryptomatte channels are you exporting? Can you send me your scene to reproduce this problem here to be sure that I'm investigating the same issue?

Thanks,

I was exporting the Cryptomatte Material Node.
When using the Material Pin Name it keeps stabile.

But still it's interesting to look into.
