crashes upon disconnecting nodes

Quite often when I unplug a node from the material it will crash the entire application. This especially seems to happen upon unplugging of normal and displacement channels. Very annoying.

Please be more specific. OS? Version info? Hardware and scene information. And crash data.

Octane 4.05R2
i9-9920x / 2x 2080Ti / 128GB DDR4
Not scene-specific, happens at least once in every scene I work on for extended amounts of time.
By crash data you mean a specific log? I'll make sure to grab that if it happens again.

first some bugreport.zip from crash. I've stopped the support on V4 and 2018 for going forwards.
Also try with latest builds available for you
