Take a look at this:

I was working on building a forest scene and experimenting with lighting, something messed up big time when I loaded one of the HDRI'sI had in my library (insane exposure) - I reverted back to an HDRI I knew had no issues, as I've used it before, now there are these hot pixels all over the scene. I'm sure I'm not the only one who's had this problem?

I could reduce the GI clamp to zero to have it disappear, but GI clamp is used for other things too, no?

You need to enable again the Imp.Samp. (Importance Sample) option in the Environment node, that now it is disabled in your screenshot.
ciao Beppe
