opinions on candle render

I've created a candle in a glass and can't decide whether it looks better with the wax geometry overlapping inside of the glass geometry as you would do with a liquid, or with a tiny gap between the geometries. The real life candle this is based on looks like the non intersecting version on the left of my pic.

Any opinions?

The one on the left would look perfect if you could snuggle up another millimeter to the glass. Does it really need a gap?

problem is I seem to get intersecting polygons, but I'm only scaling it, might try a normal move and see if that's better
