Displacement breaking mix shader

Nvidia Driver - 431.86
Octane 2019.1.2
C4D r21

I have 2 materials being mixed by the mix shader. Mix amount being driven by a vertex map - everything works.

When I add any kind of displacement to the mix shader it overrides the mix amount and only shows 1 material.
