Material pins missing : Alembic animation to Octane Standalo

Hi,
First off, feel free to move or delete the topic if i'm not in the right section of this forum.
I'm having an issue with my Maya to Octane workflow and I woud love to hear your insights on how to solve that. I have a rigged caracter that has been animated in Maya. When exporting to alembic and importing to octane, I'm only getting one material pin that doesn't match any of my materials. The materials are simply replaced by a single pin for everything.
I've tried everything I know of to get it to work ( different export options, set attribution in maya, different selection types etc...) but I still get this one pin. If I display the object layers, I get every object in the file, but that can't be used to assign materials.
Has anyone encountered this before ?

In addition, I can't change the scale of the object to cm without blowing up the whole rig, but that is not my main issue, just wanted to share, maybe it's part of my problem.
