Hey guys.

I'm trying to remove a reflection from my glossy object but I couldn't find any solution in the light tag.

Do you guys know a way to remove it?

Thanks in advance :)

Turning off the "visible on specular" attribute in the Light Settings doesn't do the trick?

Hey man, sorry for the delay.

Yes it solves the problem but it also removes all specular that this light produces in the scene.

I know that I can do some render passes and maybe mask it out in comp but I would like to know if there is a way to remove it straight out of render on version 4.01.

Thank you in advance.

Removing the Specular effect of emissions that will not disable the illumination. I believe there's something wrong you assume.

You can turn off the global specularity of a light source, or you can make a material not have a specular component, but I don't think you can toggle the specularity of a single light source on a per material basis. What you can do, though, is make a duplicate of your light that has specularity disabled, and use Light Linking to have only that light illuminate your floor object, and have your floor object ignore all other light sources (or at least ignore the particular light that's causing the problem).

In the following example, top image, the blue material on the floor and the capsule primitive are the same, but the floor object is linked to Light_03NoSpec using the Octane Object Tag and Light Pass Mask options, while all the other objects are linked to Light_02Spec. In the bottom image, all objects are linked to Light_02Spec, for comparison.
