Best Workflow

Hello,
wondering what would be the best workflow to animate materials opacity. I´ve got a Animation with a lot of changes between objects with full material casing and transparent casing. Is it usefull to animate the Opacity Float Value? What about problems with noise and hotpixels? What are your experience?
