Might we be able to get a background object?

Hi!

I use Octane for live action VFX work and because of this I often have to work with a plate in the background.

The problem is, for some reason, in Cinema 4D if you change the colour space of the background image / video in the material settings, it doesn't actually apply it to the image.

I often have to work with log footage but because I'm working in an sRGB space in Cinema and Octane, I often have to render out a proxy image sequence that has a Rec709 LUT baked in.

It would be immensely useful if there was a way to view just the background image through a LUT in the Live Viewer (just the background though, not the geometry) as then we can just work with the original log EXR's.

This kind of colour management would make Octane even more viable as a VFX render engine.

Cheers :)

+1 for this, please. Getting a proper color space throughout the compositing pipeline is a real pain in Octane at the moment. :(

Hi,
please consider that Octane is a Spectral render engine, and for Background, you should have to use the Visible Environment node, with the following OSL Projection node:
