Motion vector pass looks different in IPR and render

Hi!
Getting this issue with rendering the motion vector pass. In the IPR, I get this result which looks correct:
But then when I render with these settings:
and extract it from the EXR in AE, I get this:
Would be great if you guys had any idea how to fix this. It's the last step to finalizing my animation so I'd be pumped to figure this one out

Which kind of Camera Response curve are you using in the Camera Imager node?
If different from Linear, the results cannot be the same, since you are saving your passes in Linear mode.
If this is your case, the solution is to set the Camera Imager to Linear, or save your passes as Tonemapped.

Hey man!
I'm also having issues with motion vectors not rendering in the picture viewer even though it works in the IPR.
Do you mind me asking, do you also have problems rendering motion blur to the Picture Viewer as well? I have a bunch of shots for a film I'm working on in which I can render motion blur and motion vectors fine to the IPR but neither seem to work in the viewport (motion blur was working previously but I've somehow broken it I think

).
Just wondering if we have similar issues or something different.
Cheers

Hi!
Thank you so much Beppe, it totally did the trick!
On the left you can see a frame I rendered with tonemap type in octane render settings set to Linear, and on the right another frame with tonemap type on tonemapped. Haven't tried changing it in camera imager but I makes sense that it would work as well.

Concerning this, I was also having issues with the motion blur not showing up in the IPR which is why I decided to use motion vectors. Oddly enough when I made a new scene with a simple character with an octane tag, the motion blur showed up, whereas in this scene it didn't.
Thanks again

Antoine

@Antoine: you are welcome
@noisyboyuk: please share one of your scenes with me via PM, maybe there is something wrong in the settings, or in the scene setup.

Hello everyone,
I am taking up this post again a few months after this discussion because I have just taken over an Octane licence and I am trying to solve this mystery. If I understand correctly, you can't output a 32bit linear exr rendering (for example) and have a motion vector pass that can be used in after effects. I enclose screenshots of my settings. Can you tell me if I make a mistake or if I misunderstood. For this project, I had to take out my compositions in linear and redo a complete tonemapped rendering of the motion vector pass. I'm not sure this is the best way.
Thanks in advance.

You'll see same results if you select same colorspaces on LV and PV. Not a mystery
