Displacement + Opacity + Texture Scale/Tiling Bug?

More testing with what I thought was a ray epsilon issue but maybe actually an issue with Displacement + Opacity on a material (which I use in nearly all my scenes)? maybe a ray epsilon issue only apparent with Displace + Opacity? Unfortunately I'm not able to export out of maya to test this in standalone so I can't test to see if this is a bug just in Maya or in all of octane (is there a bug regarding exporting still in octane maya plugin?).

Each image has a description of the changes I made from one to the next. In my scene I have Ray Epsilon set to 0.00001 (any high precision breaks the image in other ways). As you can see from the images, Octane appears to NOT be having any issue with the extreme closeness of the geo OR the diplacement, but as soon as I opacity to a material with displacement, everything goes to shit. Any thoughts?

(don't judge my condensation, this is just a map for testing  )

I'm in Maya 2018.5 and the latest stable Plugin.

Here is a another screenshot where you can see it starts to cause tearing on the underlying geometry. As in the previous examples, this only happens when opacity of any sort is added.

please note that this issue happens even if just applying to a specular material (full opacity, no opacity map). So it seems ANY form of opacity causes an issue. See sample below:

Further testing, it seems that differently scaled maps or different tiling causes different results--so sometimes things don't break. In the example below the render is tiled at 0.5. If I raise the tiling anywhere past about 0.8 it breaks (in the same manner as seen in my previous images). I've tried multiple maps and they all have this issue, although the tiling number that breaks them is always slightly different

in other testing news-- I tried a displacement map that was more standard (some scanned fabric) but this did not cause the material to break no matter the opacity or what the tiling scale was set to. It's seeming to be really finicky with specifically these condensation maps. :?: :?: :?: :?: :?:

Any thoughts? Is this a bug with transparency + displacement?
