lag when starting to render the scene

Hi,

I got 7x1080 gpu connected to a double xeon workstation via 2 pci-e x16 slots. Graphic Cards are in 2 Cubix Expanders Elite.
When I launch the scene with a bit more complex geometry it takes ages even before the rendering starts.
Is there something in my rig that could be a bottleneck?
Is there a way to make quicker the "preparing scene" process?
Normally when the render starts it's very fast, I compared it to similar rigs and the timings are correct, but if you have to render the animation adding 10 minutes of preparation before every frame becomes a serious issue.

Many Thanks

Which version are you talking about? It's too long....

Hi Aoktar,

this is the version I'm using:
OctaneRender 4.01.1 (4010100)

Anyway, it was already slow with 3.8.

Thanks

V4 should be much faster at the start of render session. The difference comes from geometry processing. I cannot know your rig because I never worked something like that. But you can do some tests to understand the issue.
Try to render several scenes without any textures and materials but in different triangle counts. In the Console window, you'll see scene preparation, update and render times.
