What does this mean? Invalid ID A_TRANSLATION (172)

Tried to access attribute via invalid ID A_TRANSLATION (172)
Been getting this a lot, only in the last 16hrs or so. Everything's been fine until then.
Can someone explain what this might mean? May help me to narrow down my trouble shooting. This is the only error apart from CUDA that pops up.
Vram is 5.9 of 11gb, should not be a memory issue I don't think?

Cheers
S

On top of this, Octane will often crash with this error in the past day or so, and it's not a "normal" crash, where I can start up C4D again. It crashes and C4D closes but it seems to lock C4D somehow and it can't be re-opened. I've tried finding the process to kill it, but nothing for Maxon or C4D shows up in the Activity Monitor (Mac), so I can't find a process to kill.
This has basically put a halt to all work because it happens every time I render now.
Can it be due to a material copied from one scene to another, created in a different version of C4D? The only thing added to the scene is a couple of mats.

Thanks
S

Hi,
please, try to check in the node graph the material structure, or share the scene with me via PM.
ciao Beppe

It's about some glitch on plugin codes. But not related with your crashes.

Thanks guys,
Beppe, what in particular about the node structure should I be checking? I am mostly using just a diffuse / normal and some grads/floats/color corrects. I am in the middle of a render now so can't grab the graph just yet.
Aoktar, it doesn't matter at all? Then it is difficult to work out why the recent crashes on 4.0RC7. Reluctant to update to the new RC7 as, like I said, in the middle of renders...

Cheers
S

Yes not matter. Crashes are most likely about some conflict between opengl of C4d and Octane core. We are trying to find what's happening.

Would this still happen in RC7-R4?
It's happening on just about every LV preview or render... it's a pretty big showstopper right now. Not sure if a version change would solve it.
This is the log:

what's your OS/C4D/Octane versions and driver number? Did you updated somethings on your system before that?
