Strange Issue in Maya with Multi-texture Daz Figure

Hey All,

I'm an Octane subscriber but for some reason can only post in this demo version sub-forum.

I'm totally stumped right now. I have a Daz figure that has multiple UVs/textures on a single mesh.

For some reason the sections of the figure respond differently to bump mapping and even look a slightly different shade in the viewport 2.0 of Maya.

I am CERTAIN the material settings are identical both in the imagetexture nodes, the material and everywhere else.

I've tested all the textures in 2 other renderers, Redshift and Arnold and everything works perfectly.

Heads up, I am using the latest RC 4.0

Here's an image of the viewport:

You can see the back of the head is a different : /

Any ideas?

This looks like a C4D plugin issue, and not related to the DAZStudio plugin, so you will need to contact OTOY to fix your account to you can post in the C4D forum.

Hi!

This is the latest RC for Maya not c4d and indeed yes this has nothing to do with daz. it’s definetely and octane issue or it concerns linear color space which i know nothing about. the daz textures are all jpgs.

Hi Lagauche,

Thanks for the post.

The texturedmode in Maya Viewport 2.0 is disabled by default to save memory.
You can optimize it from Octane render tab> Maya viewport default (Global settings) rollout then set the desired resolution in Textures resolution(px) parameter.

These settings can also be found under Octane Material in AE to set the resolution individually.
Hope you will find this helpful.

Cheers
