Difference between BUMP, NORMAL and DISPLACEMENT ??

Bump is an old effect right ?
Normal is the new one, but still a "trick"
and displacement actually modifies the geometry right ?

Can someone explain in more details ?

I don't mean to be, "that guy," but honestly, the very first google hit using this post's name as search criteria will tell you as much if not more than you will get on this forum asking such a broad question.
