Hi ahmet,
Is it possible to render VDB volume directly with the R20 new volume builder?
Best,

Hi,
just export the volume in .vdb from c4d, then import back the file with an Octane VDB volume object:
ciao Beppe

thx @beppe. that's useful
there is another GPU renderer out there that can do that natively, without exporting. would be nice to have that in octane as well

Hey bepeg4d,
I know this is a pretty old thread, but could you tell me where are the vdb-export settings in c4d? I couldn't find them.

I'll piggy back on this thread as I can help a little, but have a question.
To export from c4d you just select the Volume Builder Object and go to c4d:file:export:Volume
But here is the issue I'm having. I can bring the Volume back in but Octane is getting confused and won't bring in a VDB sequence.
Here is what I have. This part works great.

But when I try to enter the digits -- in this example 10 for frame count, and the start and end frames (0 and 9)....it loses connection to the file and displays nothing.
Edit: OK...I see. The "digits" field is where I'm supposed to enter the numbering scheme. If it's 001,002...then 3 digits.
