Yes and no.
You need to install a second copy of Carrara And then copy and paste the plugin. The plugin installer only recognizes a single install so you need to juggle things a bit. If you want to keep your current Carrara install at v3 then you need to
1 upgrade to v4
2 copy the v4 plugin to your second Carrara install
3 uninstall the plugin
4 reinstall v3
I really need to post a zip version of the plugin for this scenario...
OctaneRender for Carrara 4.05.00.09[Stable and Test]
Hi Simon,
Oh, ok. Thanks for the instructions. Right now, the standalone gives me to many crashes, so I guess, I'll wait a little bit and will then switch.
Best wishes,
Thomas

Looking at what Otoy have said (and again, no promises but this is what I understand) is that for individual users with up to two GPUs, Octane and some of the interface programs will become free for any users (even those without a licence currently) and those who do have an existing licence will have access to all of the interface programs - all with no upgrade cost. That sounds great to me!

Sighman,
Thanks so much for this plug-in. So far so good on my end the only question I have is about the denoised view. After enabling denoising in the Render Target i do not see any option to view the Main vs Denoised versions of the render. Can you possibly point me in the right direction? Thanks, Sighman.

You need to use render passes to see the separate channels. Under render passes there is a denoiser tab with a number of options. After enabling the passes you want you can switch between them using the drop down on the render view window.rashadcarter wrote:Sighman,

Thanks. Yes I had seen this and enabled it previously. However in the standalone version there is an option for denoised beauty. That is what I am seeking at this momentSighman wrote:You need to use render passes to see the separate channels. Under render passes there is a denoiser tab with a number of options. Apologies if my terminological usage is incorrect. What the standalone offers is a Denoised Main view. I have attached a screen shot of the standalone. This is different from the separate individual passes, at least i think they are different but please inform me if I am wrong. Thanks as always, Sighman!
