Octane not rendering with path tracing when XSI is opened!

Hey guys,

i got strange problems lately, with octane.

When i'm changing for example only the postition or scale of an object in XSI and export it via "export frame" and use existing scene. Octane opens, imports, and than just crashes. When i open octane manually and opening the scene. Octane doesn't crash but instead i'm getting a black screen in the render viewport. When i change the kernel to directlighting everything is good. Memory says: 207mb/838mb used.

The other strange issue is, that when i only export "obj/mtl" in xsi, close xsi and then open the scene manually in octane every thing is working fine.

Hope someone got a solution for that problem.

I think with 'Export Frame' you mean 'Render Frame'
If you want to create a new project with an existing project name, use the 'Use Existing Project' button and check the 'Overwrite Existing Project' checkbox on
For an old project, you can let the checkbox unchecked.

It´s important to make the first step for a new project, because some old scene data is saved in the ocs-file.
Like the mesh name, materials and Octane settings.
Maye that is the reason that the switch from directlightning to pathtracing change some things...

Yes, i meant "render frame".

I use "Use Existing Project" button most of the time, but not the "overwrite existing project" checkbox, because i want to keep all my scene settings. When i overwrite the project all my settings are gone, or am i wrong with that?!

Yes, that´s correct.
But I hope you use the checkbox for new Softimage scenes.

If you want your settings in any project, you can maybe use the 'save as default' in Octane under the file menu.
I haven´t play with that.
