xp Trail Scale / Thickness

Hello,
I'm trying to set the xpTrail on one of my emitters to size dynamically as the camera approaches. I want them to decrease in size so they don't look so big.
I know you can do this somehow using a deformer linked to the camera.
Can you explain the process in detail for the xpTrail which would also include the particles they are streaming off of.

Thank you,
Rick

I think in addition to this solution, it may be a better solution to keep the size an accurate size per the world, but have the particles dissipate as the camera approaches like they do in the viewer. Is this possible?
Actually the way the viewer looks is perfect...as the camera moves away further and further, the particles become more thick so you can see them and as you move in they seem to thin out a bit.

any ideas welcome:)

It appears that I have the setup pretty close. Just something about the falloff that is not working properly for some reason???

Seems the falloff is just cutting between the two values...any ideas?
This is killing me.
