Muting a node (M key shortcut) in node editor does not work in latest and previous editions. Cycles works fine with this method.

Thanks for your report.
We need some node graph refactor to solve this issue(and the node group issue you reported before). They are already in progress.
We will try to introduce the solutions in the next version.
