Paride, I asked Roeland about how we can use the OSL texture/script/code in this thread..
viewtopic.php?f=73&t=53839&start=40
His reply was
That will depend on the plug-in. You have to use one of the new 3.08 releases.
Any idea how we'd go about using his script in Max? It looks really useful but no idea how to use it

Thanks Paride
Any chance of a release 14 version please?
I've tried to set up the OSL material using gradients, gt maps, inputs etc but am getting nowhere.

Thanks for that. No way I'd have ever come up with that material without your max file.
Why was the material a mix material though?
Looks like you've mixed laminate.OSK with the prevent-tiling.OSL. Why's that?

Hi Rik,
this mix material was as whersmy made.
you can use laminate without mixing two materials.
Mixing two bumb texture, you will notice the tile less.

But doesn't the laminate OSL prevent any tiling by randomising the positions of the maps so there shouldn't be any repeating tiling?
Also, what's a bumb?

Hi Rik,
I'm sorry p not b!

As you can see textures variations increase with bumps.

Thanks Paride
For some reason the materials had the map plugged into normal rather than bump. I changed them and it looks great.
Rather than a mix material I just used the bottom glossy material with colour correction on the bump map and got the same effect.
I think.
Do you know if there will be a single place to find the OSL goodies, along with instructions/manual and support files for how to use them? Would make the process so much easier and clear.
