Can you use an image SEQUENCE in MODO Octane?

Hmmm, I need to use an image sequence (rather than just a still image) for a material. I'm not sure how to set this up in Octane. Adding an Octane override does not seem to convert an imaqe seq. into the correct nodes. Any help on this?

Hi - ideally the plugin would allow images sequences for the environment texture (
as it does for materials). I will add this to the TODO list for the plugin.

In your scene you have the visible background set to a Front Projection camera.
Whilst this is supported by the plugin for materials, it is not supported for the Environment texture. Instead, enable Kernel->Alpha Channel and use Photoshop, Gimp, etc to paste the renderedĀ imageĀ over your background.

Images sequences are automatically supported for on-the-fly Modo to Octane conversions. But not in Octane Overrides.
Following are some relevant points from the release notes...
- Fixed crash with Image Sequences (introduced with the OCIO support change in 3.6.3.117). At this stage, image sequences will be assumed to have a gamma of 2.2
- Added better support for Image Sequences. First Frame, Last Frame and Start Frame are now supported. Only End Behavior is assumed to be "Hold". FPS Multiplier is assumed to be 1.

Ah - great. Thanks, Paul. I should have tried the easiest solution (I always add Octane overrides by default)

Is this still a problem?
I have a displacement map I'd like to use on a plane that I've shaded to look like water. Only thing missing now is to get the displacement working!

Please check the Release Notes at
viewforum.php?f=34 for better support for Image Sequences.

- Added support for Modo Image Sequences in Octane Overrides. To use this, drag the image sequence clip into the Octane Override schematic panel, and then connect the "pattern" chanenl to the Image node filename pin
I don't see a
pattern channel anywhere.
I tried connecting any and all channels from the pins from the two nodes that came by dragging the clip into the schematic, but none will connect.

Add the "pattern" channel to the Image Sequence node, and then drag that channel to the Filename pin on an Octane RGB Image. I will get the Octane plugin to auto-add the "pattern" channel as it does the "filename" channel in the next release.

Add, as in "add user channel" ? Terribly sorry if I look stupid; could you share a screenshot to explain ?

In the schematic, rightclick the Image Sequence node ("ocean_[####]" in your screenshot) and "Add Channel"->"pattern".
