Hello guys,

I'm trying to use maya as much as i can now, for my VET [uni for high school-ers] classes.
So i googled a kitchen in google and trying to recreate it in maya.
I have done the modeling and have deleted all unnecessary geometry and now going to do the pain staking UVing and modeling.

Now to think of it there needs to be more geometry work to do.

Is it just my eyes or is there something odd going on in the corner? It looks like the worktop has filled in the corner of the room.

Looking good. It should turn out quite special. Obviously you will need utensils.

Hi radiant, when you apply booleanoa an object you do then (mesh - triangulate), so that these problems don't appear and the texture looks good .. octane does not work with N-gons or something .. excuse my English

Cheers Marco

always going to happen that the objects by using Boolean or extrude, or any other modification of the object (clear edges, faces, etc) ..

How hard is Maya to learn? (With the understanding that you're an experienced Blender user.)

Hi radiant, apply it to objects that don't have a boolean aliasing to the edges (Edit Mesh - Bevel)

cheers Marco

Blender gave me all of the knowledge and the theory of 3D modeling/texturing/rendering.
Maya has same 100% principle and theory. but the short cut keys are different and you have more tools at your disposal, along with TOTAL stabilization then blender will ever have. Sorry its just facts, i still love blender though :P.
And the last thing is that blender is free and maya is 2 Grand well free if you are a student.

When i first got maya i got a head ache due to incompetence on where all the controls were, i wanted to learn everything in like three hours thats just not the case so over a course of 2 to 3 months i started from scratch and just builded random objects and such, and with my 11 weeks of Maya classes [paid by my school]. My knowledge in maya has significantly improved.
Dont go crazy with all of these AWESOME buttons and stuff, you all need is extrude, cut, merge, combine, and solid objects
